1 These rules supersede all previous rules.
2. A list of all players must be sent to the secretary prior to commencement.
3. Names of new players registered after the first game must be sent to the secretary 48 hours before their first match.
4. Players requiring transfers should apply in writing to the secretary stating their reasons. Transfers are only allowed in the first half of the season.
5. £10 payable on registration admits the team to the league. All teams must be represented at the AGM otherwise they cannot enter the league. All fines are at the discretion of the committee.
6. Competitions are: FOUR A SIDE / PAIRS / SINGLES (MEN / LADIES) / CAPTAINS / COLLIER CUP – The bottom 4 teams at the half way stage play off on a knockout basis. Only teams that play all fixtures are eligible. / ARTHUR RICKETTS Landlords Cup / ZEPPY SIMPKINS. Landladies Cup. / ARTHUR BEVAN Team pairs / PETER LEATHERBARROW. Mixed three a side. One payment of £10.00 per team allows all registered players to enter all competitions. All competitors must play in at least on league game during the first half of the season.
7. Each team must pay £4.50 per match to make the league independent.
8. Team subscriptions will be paid to the league at a delegate meeting in each half of the season. £2 fine for team non-attendance at the meeting.
9. The fixture list is to be strictly adhered to. The captain of the home team must forward the result card with signatures of both captains to the secretary by MONDAY. Defaulting teams to be fined £2, or £5 if one week late.
10. All matches must be played on Thursdays. The committee will allow postponements in exceptional circumstances – but must be notified by Monday before – and games must be played within 4 weeks - £5 penalty to pay.
11. If game gets cancelled, Scores will be as follows Pairs 7 – 2, Singles 4 – 2, and Captains 1 – 0, in favour of the opponents of the cancelling teams. Also a £10.00 fine for the cancelling team.
12. It is the responsibility of both captains to start the first game by 8.30 pm.
13. Pairs league – six players in each team, playing in pairs. Each pair plays three legs of 401, starting and finishing on a double. Each leg scores one point. Away team throws for double first and third legs.
14. Singles league – Six players each play best of three legs 401 straight in, double out. Each game scores one point.
15. The dartboard will be 5’ 8” high and the throw will be from 7’ 91/4” along the floor from line drawn vertically from the board face.
16. All games will be played straight out with no bust back.
17. All darts landing 2’ over the line will be forfeited.
18. Protests must be lodged with the secretary in writing within three days after the match.
19. Teams owing money from a previous season cannot compete until the arrears are paid.
20. Expulsion from the league of defaulting teams will be considered by the Committee and will be effective from the beginning of the season.
21. No alteration or addition to the rules can be made except at a general meeting when 3 days notice must be given in writing to the secretary. Anyone putting forward a proposal must be present at the meeting.
22. Captain’s Cup – one named captain for the season play, one game of 401 double in, double out.
23. The Committee will govern all matters not provided for in the above rules.
